Prime Video released a new series "Croma ón", based on a tragic story and with an impressive ensemble cast, featuring Luis Machín with his remarkable performance. The series was released in 240 countries last Friday, November 8, and includes eight episodes featuring actors such as Dany La Chepi, Esteban Lamothe, Soledad Vilamil, and Muriel Santa Ana, among others. Although it has become popular and sparked some controversy, the series has also prompted debates.
"It is based on real events that forever changed the country," the trailer notes, showing a youth confronted with tragedy, both before and after a fatal incident. The events of the series occur 20 years after one of the most tragic incidents in the country, reviving the lives of victims. According to information presented at the beginning of each episode, all the teenagers and their families are fictional characters, however, it has become known that Machín was inspired by the father of one of the victims.
The renowned actor plays the role of Carlos Binder, the father of Lucas, one of the deceased, and an advocate who becomes a lawyer in the Croma ón case. This character is a clear reflection of José Iglesias, the father of one of the victims and an advocate in the Croma ón case. Iglesias is the father of Pedro Iglesias, one of the deceased, who at the time of the tragedy was 19 years old. Binder is based on the personal story of José, although not on his family story, since the configuration of the Iglesias family is not shown in the show.
The series shares the history of a group of teenagers-friends, who became victims of a fire that occurred on the night before New Year’s Eve in 2004 at the República Cromañón club in Buenos Aires. Under the direction of Marial Rivas and Fabiana Tiscornia, the story is told from the perspective of a teenager. A 19-year-old girl dreams of becoming an artist and attends a concert of her favorite rock band that night. Four years later, she returns to her hometown to come to terms with the past and feel guilty for surviving.
In the series, she plays Olivia Nuss (Malena), and the main cast includes Kevsho, Dany La Chepi, Soledad Vilamil, Luis Machín, Paulo Barrientos, Toto Rovito, José Giménez Zapione (Purre), Karolina Κopeloff, Alan Madenes, Lautaro Rodríguez, and Antonie Benchoea.
